About the job Forklift Operator - 1st Shift
Role Overview:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. This role supports daily operations by handling inventory, staging, loading, and unloading products, ensuring materials are properly stored and readily available for production and shipping.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and experience operating material-handling equipment.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely operate sit-down, stand-up, or electric pallet jacks (depending on facility needs).
- Familiarity with inventory handling, staging, and material movement.
- Experience working in a food manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team-oriented environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Environment:
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment throughout the shift.
- Frequent lifting and moving of materials up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse or production environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and maintain productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Forklift Equipment: Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move products and materials.
- Load & Unload Materials: Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and placement of goods.
- Stage Products: Organize and stage materials for production and shipping.
- Maintain Inventory Flow: Transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Follow Safety Standards: Adhere to all warehouse safety procedures and company policies.
- Inspect Equipment: Perform basic checks on forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain Organization: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Support Warehouse Operations: Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
