About the role -
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Associate supports the effective monitoring, assessment, and research activities of the Learning Equaliser (LE) programme. This role is responsible for tracking programme progress, ensuring quality implementation, and facilitating research to gather stakeholder perspectives for data-driven decision-making. The position requires a focus on data management, standardization of assessment tools, and collaboration with external experts to enhance programme impact
Key Responsibilities-
1. Programme Monitoring and Review
- Monitor ongoing activities as per the M&E and Quality Assurance plan aligned with the Theory of Change.
- Ensure timely updates and accurate tracking of implementation progress.
- Facilitate monthly review meetings with local leadership and quarterly meetings with the executive team.
- Prepare progress reports highlighting key issues, challenges, and areas for improvement.
2. Assessment and Research
- Review and refine gender perception survey tools to align with standardized proven assessment tools.
- Spearhead the administration of student baseline and endline assessments.
- Coordinate focus group discussions, semi-structured interviews, and case studies to gather qualitative insights.
- Lead participatory reflection and action research to identify programme strengths and gaps.
3. Data collection and Analysis
- Support the maintenance of technology-powered systems for data tracking and visualization.
- Integrate all data collection forms into specific digital products and the "Data For Decision" (DFD) tool for real-time dashboard generation.
- Validate and clean data to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, ensuring it is disaggregated by gender and other relevant factors.
4. Quality Assurance
- Prepare documents, checklists, and tools to maintain quality at all implementation stages (pre, during, and post).
- Participate in quality assurance visits using structured online questionnaires.
- Report findings and recommend improvements to ensure consistent programme quality.
Qualifications & Skills -
- Education: Graduate or equivalent in Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, or a related discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in concurrent monitoring and periodic evaluation of large-scale education sector interventions.

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of quantitative and qualitative monitoring methodologies and the ability to design monitoring tools.

Gender Expertise: Strong understanding of gender issues, including gender norms, intersectionality, and gender-based violence.

Operational Skills: Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government and non-government counterparts.
