Role Overview:
The Program Development Lead is a senior, strategic role responsible for the end-to-end conceptualization and planning of our FLN programs. This individual will be instrumental in enabling thousands of teachers and students to meet learning outcomes by designing curriculum, effective tools, creating delightful learning experiences, establishing robust Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) mechanisms, and strategically leveraging technology, including AI, to solve teacher and student challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Design and Strategy
- Lead the conceptualization and detailed planning of new and existing FLN programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Design robust M&E frameworks, mechanisms, and tools (both digital and non-digital) to capture reliable data on student and teacher performance.
- Conduct continuous user research to deeply understand teacher and student problems and iterate on design solutions.
2. Curriculum and Content Development
- Develop and design highly effective and delightful learning experiences and tools for teachers and students.
- Apply expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, and historical/latest learning theories to program creation.
- Ensure program content reflects subject matter expertise in Math and/or English for Grades 15.
- Integrate technology and AI (e.g., ChatGPT, text-to-speech) to create innovative solutions and address scaling challenges.
3. Leadership and Management
- Lead through influence and manage complex projects that require collaboration across implementation, design, and M&E functions.
- Manage and coach 12 team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
- Translate complex project data into quick, pragmatic, and long-term decisions.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in program design, curriculum development, product management, or the education sector.
- Proven experience in designing solutions for large-scale, complex educational or social sector problems.
- Strong track record of leading and influencing cross-functional teams and managing direct reports.
Skills & Attributes
- Instructional Design Mastery: Deep knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
- Technology Proficiency: High proficiency with design tools (like Canva) and experience leveraging AI tools (like ChatGPT) in work processes.
- Data-Driven: Competence in data analysis to inform quick, pragmatic, long-term decisions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
