Role Overview:

The Lead Technology defines and drives the technological vision and strategy to ensure the successful development and implementation of scalable, innovative educational technology solutions. This role is pivotal in scaling programmes through data-driven platforms, government partnerships, and ensuring compliance with frameworks like India's National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR). The incumbent will leverage technology to enhance organisational effectiveness, streamline operations, and support a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technology Strategy and Deployment

  • Strategic Roadmap: Define a technology roadmap aligned with business growth, educational outcomes, and systems change through government partnerships.
  • Digital Integration: Lead the integration of digital tools, applications, and platforms to enhance teaching and learning experiences at scale.
  • Scalable Architecture: Develop technology architecture that scales seamlessly from pilot phases to national-level adoption.
  • Advanced Analytics: Integrate AI/ML capabilities and data visualization dashboards to provide real-time, actionable insights for educators and policymakers.
  • Accessibility: Ensure platforms are interoperable and accessible in low-resource, rural, and tribal environments.

2. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships

  • Government Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison for state education departments to ensure alignment with digital policies and NDEAR standards.
  • Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions for teachers and administrators to ensure effective adoption of digital tools.
  • Strategic Alliances: Foster partnerships with ed-tech innovators, research institutions, and global organizations to co-create impactful solutions.
  • Advocacy: Represent the organisation at global and national forums to advocate for equitable education technology.

3. IT Governance and Information

  • Policy Management: Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards that align with industry best practices.
  • Vendor Management: Select and manage relationships with technology service providers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
  • Data Security: Oversee robust data protection strategies, including encryption, access controls, regular backups, and IT audits.
  • Asset Lifecycle: Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and oversee procurement, upgrades, and decommissioning.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8–10 years of proven experience managing an IT function and leading cloud-based/mobile application development for large-scale programmes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong background in software development; ability to write, debug, and understand programming principles.
  • Data Driven: Significant experience using data analysis tools and business intelligence platforms to optimize processes.
  • Documentation: Ability to independently create process flows, use cases, SOPs, and technical manuals.
  • Operational Management: Proven proficiency in budget and financial management within a technology context.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 10% to focus project areas
