About the Role

We are seeking a District Program Manager (DPM) to play a pivotal role in driving the implementation of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) program across an assigned district in Uttar Pradesh. This role oversees both academic and operational aspects of the program, ensuring strict alignment with the State FLN Mission, NIPUN Bharat goals, and Samagra Shiksha priorities. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and coordinate closely with district education officials to ensure effective on-ground execution and program sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Lead the implementation of district-level FLN goals, developing detailed activity and training plans for teachers and academic resource persons.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with government officials (BSA, DIET, DM, CDO) and facilitate joint review meetings to track progress.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Oversee data collection from classroom observations and analyze trends at the school and block levels to identify improvement opportunities.
  • People Leadership: Provide mentoring and on-ground support to District and Block Academic Coordinators, conducting regular performance reviews and capacity-building sessions.
  • Financial & Admin Oversight: Lead monthly financial tracking, ensure timely budget utilization, and manage local vendor coordination for logistics and printing.
  • School Monitoring: Conduct a mandatory minimum of 10 school visits per month to observe classroom practices and teacher facilitation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Education: Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Education, Management, or a related field
  • Experience: 6-8 years in project management, specifically within education or government partnership programs.
  • Government Relations: Essential experience working with district education administrations such as CDO, BSA, DIET, and BEOs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Hindi and English.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to improving learning outcomes for children in government schools.
