About the role:

The Director of Operations will act as the architect and steward of our next phase of growth. This is a co-founder–like leadership position. You will move beyond "back-office" tasks to shape strategy, culture, and execution as we transition from deep, place-based work to influencing national narratives around childhood in crisis.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Leadership: Partner with founders to shape the long-term vision and translate strategy into operational milestones.

  • Operations & Governance: Design and lead organization-wide processes, overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and compliance.

  • Programs & Scale: Oversee large, multi-district education programs and enable the creation of key products (curriculum, learning resources) to reach new territories.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Lead the design of M&E systems and strengthen data analytics for evidence-based decision-making.

  • People & Culture: Nurture organizational culture and support the professional growth of team members.

  • Ecosystem Engagement: Build relationships with government bodies, funders, and partners to strengthen collectives in challenging geographies.

Required Skills:

  • Professional Background: At least 8 years of experience, with 3–4 years specifically in education and managing large-scale programs.

  • Senior Operations Expertise: Essential prior experience in a senior operations role with a strong understanding of pedagogy and learner experience.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and data/M&E systems.

  • Language: Strong proficiency in Hindi (reading, writing, and speaking).

  • Mindset: A founders mindset with a commitment to the mission for at least 3 years. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and resource-constrained environments.
