About the job:
We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven State Lead to manage and strengthen the implementation of our education programs across the state. The role is responsible for leading operations across different models including Fellowship, Dronacharya, and Partnership models while ensuring quality execution and program growth across districts. This position is ideal for a strategic leader who can combine field understanding, team leadership, and government liaisoning to improve student outcomes at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
1. State-level Program Management
- Manage the overall operations of various program models across the state.
- Ensure smooth planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring of program activities across all districts.
2. Team Leadership and Support
- Manage and support District Leads, Fellowship Leads, and other district-level team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, mentorship sessions, and feedback conversations to strengthen accountability.
- Support professional development through structured coaching and capacity building.
- Promote a culture of innovation, ownership, and strong communication across the team.
3. Government Liaison & Coordination
- Build and maintain strong relationships with state-level government officials and education department stakeholders.
- Support the release and follow-up of official letters regarding permissions, trainings, and meetings.
4. Strategy, Innovation & Growth
- Develop state-level strategies for effective program implementation and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize field insights and program data to strengthen program design and impact.
- Contribute to the development of program proposals, concept notes, and donor reports.
- Coordinate with internal finance, communications, and partnership teams to support sustainability.
5. Monitoring & Quality Assurance
- Regularly visit districts to understand on-ground realities and identify implementation gaps.
- Plan training and support interventions to bridge identified gaps.
- Track progress and prepare periodic reports and review documents.
- Monitor program risks and proactively support teams in resolving operational challenges.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Development Studies, Public Policy, Management, or a related field.

Experience: 5–10 years in program management, education leadership, field operations, or the development sector.

Preferred Background: Prior experience managing multi-district or large-scale programs.

Systems Knowledge: Experience working with government systems and education departments is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, planning, and team management skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships with government stakeholders and lead multi-level coordination.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Willingness to travel regularly across districts within the state.
