Role Overview:
The Program Coordinator serves as the primary link between the organization and the communities, schools, and educators it serves. This role is responsible for the full spectrum of ground-level implementation, ensuring that programs are not just delivered, but are understood, owned, and sustained by local stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Implementation & Programme Delivery
- Manage day-to-day implementation of activities across assigned schools, Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs), and community touchpoints.
- Ensure high-quality, timely delivery that is responsive to real-time field conditions.
- Maintain a consistent presence in the field to observe sessions, support educators, and identify necessary programmatic adaptations.
- Align region-level implementation with state priorities and established timelines.
Teacher & Educator Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with teachers, headmasters, and TEI faculty.
- Deliver engaging, contextually relevant training sessions and provide ongoing mentoring and follow-up support.
- Facilitate peer learning sessions and reflection circles to foster a community of practice among educators.
Stakeholder Management
- Represent the organization at regional and district levels, building relationships with government officials and education administrators.
- Navigate institutional processes, including obtaining permissions and participating in joint reviews or government coordination meetings.
- Identify when to act independently and when to escalate challenges to the Manager or State Lead.
Required Qualifications & Experiences:
Experience: 3–7 years in field-based program implementation, community engagement, or the education sector.
Sector Knowledge: Experience working directly with schools, teachers, or government education institutions.
Passion: A commitment to youth mental health, gender equity, and education system reform.
Communication: Strong skills in English and Hindi; proficiency in a local language relevant to Meghalaya is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace and digital data collection tools.
Travel: Comfort with frequent and extensive travel to remote and rural locations within assigned districts.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to navigate diverse institutional contexts with professionalism, empathy, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
