About the Role
We are seeking a Research Associate (Talent Management) to join our team. This role will focus on generating insights around talent trends, organizational needs, and workforce dynamics in the development sector.
The associate will contribute to data analysis, organizational mapping, talent research, and support thought leadership through research papers, briefs, and reports.
You’ll be working closely with the Talent Acquisition and leadership teams to strengthen Ground Zero’s knowledge base and contribute to sector-wide conversations on how nonprofits hire, manage, and retain talent.
Key Responsibilities
1. Research & Data Analysis
Conduct research on talent trends, HR practices, and organizational structures across nonprofits.
Collect, organize, and analyze data from internal and external sources.
Maintain and update the database and talent pools.
Prepare sectoral insights, case studies, and reports to support business development and strategy.
2. Talent & Organization Mapping
Create and update mapping of organizations, leadership structures, and roles.
Support talent mapping and profiling for ongoing recruitment mandates.
Develop insight reports on sectoral skills demand and hiring patterns.
3. Knowledge & Thought Leadership
Contribute to blogs, whitepapers, and publications on trends in social sector hiring and talent management.
Support in designing surveys, conducting interviews, and synthesizing findings.
Collaborate with the communications team to convert research findings into accessible content for external dissemination.
4. Internal Collaboration & Support
Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to support ongoing client projects with data-driven insights.
Assist the Leadership and Partnerships teams with research inputs for presentations, reports, and proposals.
Participate in team discussions, reviews, and learning sessions.
What a Day Looks Like at Ground Zero
A day as an Associate, Research might look like:
Morning check-in with the team to align on key tasks and deliverables.
Reviewing data from the previous day’s organizational mapping and identifying missing insights.
Conducting a quick desk research on HR trends in the education or health sector.
Collaborating with the recruitment team to refine candidate personas for a specific nonprofit.
Drafting a 1-page insight brief summarizing talent movement trends in North India.
Attending a virtual meeting with a partner organization to understand their talent challenges.
Ending the day by updating dashboards and sharing progress notes with your team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Management, or related fields.
- 1-2 years of experience in research, consulting, HR analytics, or nonprofit management.
Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus [like looker studio].
- Ability to work remotely, independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- English & Hindi is a must to know language requirement
- Interest in the social impact sector, with curiosity about people and organizations.
