About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated MEL Coordinator to join a dynamic programme that strengthens women-owned collective enterprises. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to a systems change initiative aimed at creating an enabling ecosystem for grassroots women entrepreneurs.

As part of this role, the MEL Coordinator will play a critical role in linking data to decision-making, ensuring that insights from monitoring and evaluation directly inform programme strategy, improve implementation, and strengthen the impact of women-led enterprises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, adapt, and implement MEL frameworks and tools for women-owned collective enterprises.
  • Support programme evaluations, including co-developing instruments, analytical frameworks, training team members, coordinating data collection, and preparing reports.
  • Track, report, and support implementation of monitoring processes to meet quality standards.
  • Analyze programme monitoring systems and evaluation results to inform programmatic improvements.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly data analysis and reports to programme coordinators and other stakeholders.
  • Identify implementation challenges and design strategies to mitigate them.
  • Promote learning as an integral component of the programme and support evidence sharing on internal and external platforms.
  • Participate in annual programme reviews and planning workshops.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all MEL-related activities.
  • Support the overall development of MEL frameworks and processes within the organization.
  • Lead organization-wide capacity-building sessions to enhance knowledge on MEL.
  • Ensure that MEL data is effectively communicated across teams to support strategic decision-making and strengthen organizational learning.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Data Sciences, Economics, or related fields.
  • 7+ years of experience managing MEL in social impact programmes, preferably in livelihood or entrepreneurship initiatives.
  • Proven experience designing and leading MEL strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, with proficiency in qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience working at the grassroots level with marginalized communities.
  • Understanding of social/development sector issues, particularly in livelihood and womens collective enterprises.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and statistical software for quantitative data analysis and visualization (Power BI, SPSS, STATA, etc.).
  • Experience building trackers and dashboards is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to field locations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Hindi and English; knowledge of additional regional languages is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to connect programmatic and organizational priorities with MEL work.
