About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate mid-career professional to join our Public Policy, Research, and Strategy Team. This role is crucial for influencing public policy, driving evidence-based action, and supporting strategy development in the field of learning disabilities and neurodiversity.
This position offers a unique opportunity to shape policies across diverse domains, including public policy, education, technology, skilling and employment, and impact investing.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Policy Research & Analysis:
- Conduct thorough research and monitor policies impacting persons with learning disabilities in India.
- Identify policy gaps, challenges, global best practices, and opportunities for systemic interventions.
- Analyze data related to learning disabilities and collaborate with stakeholders to derive insights that inform evidence-based policy recommendations.
- Coordination & Feedback Loops:
- Coordinate with on-ground field teams to gather implementation feedback and insights.
- Strengthen feedback loops to ensure program design and interventions are contextually relevant and adaptive for scale.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy:
- Collaborate with State and Central Government officials, NGOs, industry leaders, and civil society to advocate for policy changes that enhance SLD inclusion.
- Facilitate and plan policy consultation meetings with bureaucrats and industry partners.
- Strategy Development:
- Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to the development of evidence-based interventions that gain buy-in from governments and ecosystem partners.
- Support the creation of the strategic framework for project implementation.
- Documentation & Knowledge Products:
- Prepare clear and concise policy briefs, reports, and other documents to communicate research findings and recommendations internally and externally.
- Capture learnings, success stories, and impact at regular intervals to create knowledge products.
- Technology Leverage:
- Demonstrate an understanding of technological solutions (including emerging AI) and their role in systems transformation.
- Support the design, development, and deployment of tech solutions to strengthen program interventions and enhance impact at scale.
Eligibility & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree from a recognized institution in Public Policy, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Liberal Arts, Law, Business Studies, or a related discipline. (A Post Graduate degree is an advantage, but not mandatory.)
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Sector Knowledge (Must Have): Proven knowledge of public policies, government regulations, and their implications. Experience working directly with government bodies in relevant sectors is mandatory.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in the use of technology, including emerging AI tools.
