About the role:
This senior leadership role reports directly to the [CEO/Founder] and is responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight for all high-impact programs related to Emergency Medical Response and Trauma Care. The Director/CIO will ensure clinical excellence, operational scaling, and partnership management to drive our mission forward.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Program Leadership & Scale
- Strategy Implementation: Translate the organization's vision into actionable program strategies focused on clinical excellence, system strengthening, and maximum life-saving impact.
- Program Oversight: Lead the execution and management of all field programs, including the Integrated Safety Corridor Model and the implementation of our national life-saving advocacy initiatives.
- Scaling: Responsible for the accelerated expansion of the Trauma Care and Emergency Response program across new geographies, ensuring fidelity and quality at scale.
2. Clinical and Training Excellence
- Clinical Standards: Ensure all operational programs adhere to the highest standards of emergency medical response, trauma care protocols, and Basic Life Support (BLS) standards.
- Capacity Building: Oversee the development and delivery of engaging, effective, and hands-on training sessions for diverse audiences, including government officials, police, and medical professionals.
- Expert Representation: Act as the organization's expert spokesperson on clinical and trauma-related matters to internal teams, partners (including the Government of India and the World Bank Group), and the media.
3. Stakeholder Management & Partnerships:
- Government Relations: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with senior government officials (e.g., police, transport, health departments) to facilitate systemic reforms and regulatory compliance.
- Partner Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key international partners (e.g., World Bank, International Federation) and domestic donors/partners.
- Fundraising Support: Support the senior leadership team in developing compelling proposals and maintaining relationships with institutional funders.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Clinical Background: Must be a clinically trained professional (e.g., MBBS, MD, or equivalent) with significant experience in trauma care, emergency medical services, or public health systems.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing complex, large-scale, high-impact social sector programs, preferably in India.
- Sector Expertise: Strong, practical understanding of emergency medical response, trauma care protocols, and policy implementation.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex medical and policy concepts for diverse stakeholders.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites and engagement locations.
