About the role:
Our organization is seeking a Consultant – Programs based in Assam to play a pivotal role in establishing and integrating mental well-being initiatives into the state education system. This individual will act as a strategic bridge between the organization and the state/district education ecosystem, leading government engagement, managing on-ground program execution, and ensuring smooth project implementation. The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship builder and systems thinker with significant experience in government partnerships and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
Key Responsibilities
Government & Stakeholder Coordination
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with key government stakeholders, including SCERT, SSA, and DIETs.
- Identify entry points and partnerships to establish well-being as a top priority within the state education system.
- Advocate for the organizations vision to state and district officials to translate goals into actionable state priorities.
- Represent the organization in state-level consultations, review meetings, and multi-stakeholder forums.
Program Implementation & Monitoring
- Oversee end-to-end implementation of interventions in Assam, ensuring alignment with timelines and project outcomes.
- Facilitate seamless collaboration between field teams, training units, and government partners.
- Utilize field data and partner insights to provide regular, actionable feedback to improve program quality.
Training & Capacity Building
- Support the design and delivery of high-quality capacity-building workshops for teachers, trainers, and government officials.
- In collaboration with national teams, adapt and contextualize training materials to suit state-specific needs.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Serve as the primary liaison between the state ecosystem and national leadership.
- Document success stories, field experiences, and policy insights to contribute to organizational learning and advocacy.
Required Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: 12–15 years of relevant experience in advocacy (particularly with state education departments), program design, or government partnerships.

Essential Expertise: Prior experience working with state/district education departments or in teacher training and capacity building is required.

Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of government systems, administrative processes, and public sector program delivery.

Competencies: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
