About the role:

Our organization is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Associate Director – ECE to provide strategic leadership in advancing our Early Childhood Education initiatives. This target-driven role involves designing and scaling high-impact programs, strengthening academic quality, and building long-term collaborations with government bodies, CSR partners, and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the ECE domain and a proven ability to deliver measurable impact on early learning outcomes at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Innovation

  • Provide strategic leadership for the ECE portfolio, ensuring alignment with national frameworks (NCF–FS 2022) and state-specific contexts.

  • Design and drive innovative strategies to address emerging field issues and set long-term goals for scaling ECE programs.

Government & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and strengthen partnerships with government bodies such as NCERT, SCERTs, and DIETs for system-level reforms.

  • Collaborate with sector experts, NGOs, and donors to influence ECE policies and implementation models.

  • Represent the organization at national and international forums to advance policy dialogue.

Program & Academic Excellence

  • Guide the design and quality assurance of ECE curricula, academic resources, and professional development modules.

  • Ensure program implementation aligns with national priorities and utilize field feedback to strengthen outcomes.

Capacity Building & Team Development

  • Lead structured training and mentoring initiatives for central and state teams.

  • Build leadership pipelines by coaching team members and enabling continuous professional development.

Resource Management & Research

  • Oversee program planning, budgeting, and financial accountability for ECE initiatives.

  • Lead research and documentation to generate evidence, best practices, and knowledge products that position the organization as a thought leader.

Required Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Education: Masters degree in Education, ECE, Child Development, or a related field; a PhD is an added advantage.

  • Experience: 10–15 years of progressive leadership in education, including at least 5 years specifically in ECCE, ICDS, or Child Development.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong grounding in play-based learning, early literacy, and numeracy research.

  • Management: Proven track record in managing high-performing teams, multi-stakeholder partnerships, and large-scale program operations.

  • Communication: Fluency in both Hindi and English (spoken and written); exceptional Hindi writing skills are a plus.

  • Attributes: Self-driven, resilient, and adaptable leader capable of thriving in a dynamic work environment.
