Role Overview:

This role is for a mission-driven expert who ensures that instructional content is both impactful and genuinely usable across diverse geographies, languages, and learner contexts. Working at the intersection of curriculum design, behavioral science, and field implementation, the Senior Specialist sets quality standards and localization processes to bridge national vision with ground-level realities.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Design & Pedagogical Vision

  • Lead the iterative design of state-level curriculum and training materials aligned with project goals and evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with international and domestic teams to bring innovation and relevance to all materials.
  • Champion a design philosophy rooted in co-creation and field-responsiveness rather than top-down delivery.
  • Develop rigorous, visually clear, and scalable resources including facilitator guides, master trainer kits, and assessment tools.

Quality Assurance & Contextualization

  • Establish design standards to ensure consistency in structure, tone, and instructional logic across all outputs.
  • Create robust processes for multilingual adaptation, ensuring cultural references and language registers are locally resonant while maintaining the integrity of the original meaning.
  • Integrate feedback from field observations, M&E data, and stakeholder input to drive continuous content evolution.

Innovation & Digital Learning

  • Lead the development of a digital content ecosystem, including LMS inputs and mobile-first resources designed for low-connectivity environments.
  • Experiment with diverse formats such as interactive digital modules, peer learning circles, and micro-content series.
  • Partner with the training team to align curriculum design with teacher-training resources and reflection tools.

Required Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Experience: 9–12 years in curriculum design, instructional design, or L&D within the education or social impact sectors.

  • Subject Expertise: Strong grounding in adult learning theory, child development, or behavior change.

  • Domain Knowledge: Prior experience designing content for mental health, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), wellbeing, or trauma-informed education.

  • Language Skills: Exceptional writing and editing skills in English and Hindi; experience managing translation quality for regional languages is essential.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with digital learning tools (Google Suite, Canva, LMS) and collaborating across cross-functional, remote teams.

  • Preferred: Experience working with or designing for government education systems (e.g., SCERTs, teacher education institutions).
