Cassandra & OpenSearch Infrastracture Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cassandra & OpenSearch Infrastracture Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and operational health of our core NoSQL and search infrastructure. You'll work with large-scale, distributed data systems and be a key player in ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.


Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain our production Cassandra and OpenSearchclusters, including monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  
  
• Deploy, scale, and manage our data infrastructure using Kubernetes, ensuring resilience and efficiency.
  
  
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate the provisioning and configuration of our data platforms.
  
  
• Design and implement backup, high-availability, disaster recovery, and maintenance strategies for mission-critical systems.
  
  
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement robust data models for non-relational databases, with a specific focus on Cassandra.
  
  
• Work with development teams to optimize OpenSearch queries and indexes for fast and efficient full-text search and analytics.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience operating production Cassandra clusters, including day-to-day administration, performance tuning, and cluster management.
  
  
• Hands-on experience with OpenSearch, including indexing strategies, query optimization, and cluster operations.
  
  
• Strong experience with Kubernetes for deploying and managing stateful applications.
  
  
• In-depth knowledge of non-relational database concepts and architectures.
  
  
• Experience writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as with Terraform or similar tools.
  
  
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or equivalent) for automation and tooling.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases is a strong plus. - This will be great to have
  
  
• Exposure to database management in large-scale, multi-region environments.
  
  
• Familiarity with tools for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting operational data to identify inefficiencies.
  
  
• Comfortable collaborating across engineering, SRE, and platform teams.
