Lead Data Engineer (AWS)

You will lead the data engineering on a migration of a banking data platform from Sybase IQ to AWS. The target architecture is built on S3 and Athena, with real-time processing in AWS Lambda (Python) and batch processing in AWS Glue.

What you will be responsible for

• Designing and building data pipelines on AWS for the migrated data platform
• Real-time processing with AWS Lambda in Python
• Batch processing and ETL with AWS Glue
• Data storage and querying with Amazon S3 and Athena
• Migrating data and logic from Sybase IQ (or a similar on-premise data warehouse) to AWS
• Technical leadership of the data engineering work and close cooperation with architects, analysts and the client's teams

What we expect from you

• Several years of hands-on data engineering experience, ideally in banking or financial services
• Practical experience with AWS Glue, Lambda (Python), S3 and Athena
• Strong Python and SQL
• Experience with data warehouse migrations; Sybase IQ is a strong plus
• Experience leading or mentoring data engineers
• Excellent English
• Willingness to work full-time on-site in Prague and occasional flexibility in working hours
