Field Safety Engineer – Specialized Construction Projects

Phoenix, Arizona

A leading U.S. general contractor is seeking a Field Safety Engineer to support large-scale specialized construction projects in Phoenix, Arizona, including semiconductor facilities, data centers, and other advanced industrial developments.

This role is ideal for early to mid-career safety professionals who want to gain hands-on experience on technically complex construction projects in the United States.

This is a contract position from May through December, with the possibility of extension depending on project needs and performance.

Compensation & Schedule

Hourly rate: $30 – $40 per hour (depending on experience)

Schedule: 50 hours per week

40 hours at regular rate

10 hours paid as overtime


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and enforcement of the project safety program
  • Conduct field safety inspections and identify potential hazards
  • Assist with hazard analysis and risk mitigation planning
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA standards and project EHS requirements
  • Support fall protection, confined space, electrical, and crane safety programs
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and worker orientations
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain a strong safety culture on site

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in construction safety, EHS, or industrial safety roles
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction safety practices
  • Experience working in construction or industrial project environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly in the field

Fluent English (written and verbal)


Preferred Qualifications

NEBOSH IGC or equivalent EHS certification

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
  • Experience on large construction projects, industrial facilities, data centers, or semiconductor projects
