We are seeking an experienced in Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs) Accountant with proven skills in using Class software. You will be responsible for end-to-end SMSF accounting and compliance, ensuring accurate reporting, ATO lodgments, and client support within the Australian superannuation framework.
Salary Range: 45,000 - 55,000
Work Set-Up: Work onsite | Mon-Fri | 6am - 3pm

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and lodge SMSF annual financial statements and income tax returns in accordance with ATO (Australian Taxation Office) Requirements and ASIC (Australian Securities & Investments Commission) Requirements
- Use Class Super to administer and manage SMSF client data, process transactions, and generate reports.
- Complete full year-end processing, including reconciliations of bank accounts, investments, income, and expenses.
- Collaborate with auditors to provide audit-ready workpapers and respond to audit queries.
- Ensure compliance with the Superannuation Industry and ATO rulings.
- Assist trustees with queries related to contributions, pensions, minimum drawdowns, and fund strategies.
- Monitor legislative changes affecting SMSFs and apply necessary updates to client accounts.
- Support internal process improvements and contribute to best practice documentation.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in SMSF accounting in an Australian firm.
- Experience with Class software is required.
- Strong understanding of superannuation legislation, ATO compliance, and SMSF tax rules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, is a plus).
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
