Q201505: Estimator (HVAC)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for HVAC materials and equipment. Responsibilities include performing takeoffs in Bluebeam and estimating products such as louvers, VAV boxes, dampers, and other air distribution components. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
Salary Range: 30,000 - 40,000
Work Set-Up: Work onsite | Mon-Fri | 6am - 3pm

Responsibilities:
- Review mechanical plans, specifications, and project documents to prepare detailed HVAC estimates.
- Perform material takeoffs using Bluebeam and other estimating tools.
- Estimate HVAC equipment and components including Louvers, VAV boxes, Dampers, Diffusers, grilles, and registers, Air handling and ventilation products
- Develop accurate cost proposals, budgets, and bid packages.
- Request and evaluate vendor and manufacturer quotations.
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, cost breakdowns, and pricing models in Excel.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to clarify scope and ensure accurate pricing.
- Identify value-engineering opportunities and alternate product solutions.
- Assist in post-bid reviews and handoff meetings as required.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in HVAC estimating, mechanical contracting, or related field.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for takeoffs and plan review.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data organization).
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Excellent communication skills when working with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
