This role is a backend-focused full stack engineering position at a fast-growing fintech startup building corporate cards, spend management software, and progressing toward an AI CFO platform. Engineers work directly with the founders to design, build, and scale features powering a mission-critical financial infrastructure.

• New Grad: $150,000

• 56 Years: $230,000

• Exceptional Candidates: Up to $290,000

Engineering culture
This startup maintains a high-intensity, in-person engineering environment. Engineers own projects end-to-end, work closely with the founders, and operate at startup speed. Expect some nights and weekends, 6070+ hour weeks, and rapid iteration cycles.

Role summary
We are hiring exceptional Full Stack Engineers with a backend focus to design, develop, and ship production-ready features. The role requires strong problem-solving ability, systems thinking, and comfort working long hours in an in-person, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and deploy full stack solutions with emphasis on backend systems

• Collaborate directly with founders to define and deliver product requirements

• Own projects from 01, ensuring scalability, security, and performance

• Improve system architecture and engineering processes across the team

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code

Must-have qualifications

• 3-9 years of full stack or backend engineering experience (exceptional new grads considered)

• Strong proficiency with JavaScript / TypeScript, Node.js, and SQL

• Proven experience taking products from concept to launch (01 experience)

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and architectural thinking

• Ability to work 6070+ hours/week in-person in NYC

• Highly ambitious with excellent communication skills

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced startup environments

• Background in fintech or payment systems

• Strong systems design skills

• Previous experience in small, high-caliber engineering teams
