Overview

TalentFish is casting a line for a Data & Analytics Engineer. This is a contract - CTH remote role with the company based in Illinois.

The reason this position exists is to provide data engineer and analytics support to a fast-paced project. The role uses SQL, Power Platform, MS Dynamics, Power BI to make complex data into actionable insights and ensures seamless data governance and infrastructure across Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric environments.

What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)

  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong technical expertise in data engineering, data architecture, and infrastructure technologies.

  • Solid understanding of SQL, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, OneLake, Power BI, Power Platform.

  • Experience in Azure DevOps, including Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Test Plans, and Artifacts.

  • Proven ability to perform as a data engineer in a fast-paced project team.

  • Experience managing or collaborating with offshore teams through Application Managed Services (AMS).

  • Strong data engineering, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.


What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)

  • Develop data collection, modeling, and analysis strategies to inform executive decision-making.

  • Design and execute cross-functional projects using advanced data analysis techniques to provide client insights that drive efficiencies.

  • Support the development and implementation of data governance and security strategies across Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.

  • Facilitate integration between Databricks and Fabric via OneLake shortcuts and Delta Sharing to prevent data fragmentation.

  • Support data engineering, analytics, and data science teams in building robust and scalable data solutions.

  • Leverage AI capabilities and business intelligence tools to enhance reporting and strategic insight.

  • Manage and optimize data environments—defining environments, managing ALM processes, and ensuring system stability and performance.

  • Support environment planning, deployment, updates, and compliance with security and regulatory standards.

  • Direct the data request and prioritization process, ensuring efficient delivery and continuous improvement.

  • Prepare reports and presentations to executives and management teams highlighting business functions, key metrics, and performance trends.

  • Manage lifecycle and performance optimization across multiple data systems.

Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $65-$75/hr depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
