The Canvas Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end technical setup, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Canvas (LMS) across academic terms. This role ensures that courses, assessments, grading structures, and blueprints operate smoothly for both faculty and students. The Canvas Specialist will work closely with Academic Coordinators and IT Support to ensure efficient LMS operations and seamless teaching and learning experience.

Responsibilities: 
1. Canvas configuration and blue print management (per term cycle. 

  • Create, update, and maintain master Blueprint course templates.
  • Set up and configure 26+ course Blueprints per term, ensuring consistent structure and navigation.
  • Configure grading groups, assignment headers, and course-level settings.

  • Ensure Blueprint-to-Child course synchronization and troubleshoot sync issues.


2. Assessment and Content Setup

  • Create Turnitin assignments, MILO assessments, second opportunity submissions, and quiz structures according to academic timelines.
  • Build quizzes and question banks, ensuring correct settings (shuffle answers, time limits, feedback release, access codes).
  • Ensure special configurations for Friday courses, Capstone courses, and varying assessment formats.
  • Organize submission links, headers, and course homepage layouts for clarity and uniformity.


3. Pre-Term & Term Launch Quality Assurance

  • Sync Blueprints to all Child Courses and verify that content is transferred correctly.
  • Test submission links, quiz availability, and gradebook column setup.

  • Ensure courses are published or unpublished at correct times.

  • Provide lecturers with checklists and technical reminders before term start.


4. Active Term Technical Support

  • Monitor course access and LMS functionality 

  • Provide fast-response technical support to lecturers and students during assessment weeks.
  • Troubleshoot upload issues, quiz access problems, and grading display issues.

  • Adjust configurations for Second Opportunity assessments where applicable.


5. End of Term Closeout and Documentation

  • Archive and close completed term courses.

  • Update and maintain the Canvas Lecturer Guide and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Record and escalate recurring technical issues to IT for improvement.

  • Prepare repeat and new Blueprint setups for the next academic term.



To qualify for the role: 

  • Experience managing or administering a Learning Management System, preferably Canvas. 
  • Strong understanding of course structures, grading systems, and digital assessment workflows.
  • High attention to detail and comfort with structured, repetitive, process-based work.
  • Ability to document procedures clearly and maintain organized version control.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.

Work Arrangement 

  • Work on-site for 4 months, then transition to a hybrid work arrangement once a week after successfully passing the 3rd-month review. 
  • Work Location: Robinsons Zeta Tower C5 Road Ugong Norte Quezon City. Area is close to Opus Mall, IPI Pasig, and Tiendesitas. It is accessible from Ortigas CBD, Eastwood, C5 Road, and Rizal areas
  • Work Schedule: 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM (8:00 AM Berlin time)
