About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced and commercially savvy Operator to manage contracts for Copper Concentrates, with the flexibility to expand into other Base Metals or Concentrates in line with business development. This is a key role that bridges coordination across departments and ensures smooth contract execution from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • System & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in internal systems (logistics, pricing, invoicing, costs, P&L reporting, hedge positions).
  • Ensure data reflects real-time commercial and operational status.

Contract Management

  • Review contracts based on business confirmations.
  • Liaise with the contract desk and counterparties for original contract execution.

Logistics Coordination

  • Declare shipments and disport locations in a timely manner.
  • Oversee physical shipments from loading ports to final destinations.
  • Communicate with customers/receivers on LC openings, vessel nominations, B/L drafts, and payment verification.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, surveyors, labs, logistics firms, and customs agents.
  • Minimize shipment risk while ensuring a P&L-oriented approach.

Finance & Accounting Support

  • Coordinate import/export LC openings with Trade Finance.
  • Submit financing requests, manage term sheets, invoicing, payment monitoring, and fund receipt tracking.
  • Monitor client exposures and ensure timely second provisional/final payments.

WSMD (Warehouse Stock & Material Delivery)

  • Arrange due diligence and stock inspections at loading ports.
  • Monitor material quality and communicate results to the WSMD team.
  • Oversee assay exchange/finalization and manage third-party lab instructions.

Hedging & Pricing

  • Place pricing orders in coordination with the LME desk.
  • Monitor pricing exposure and manage QP declarations and confirmations.
  • Update internal systems with final prices and manage the AVE hedge program.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • 510 years of experience in Base Metals concentrates operations.
  • Strong commercial orientation with a P&L mindset.
  • Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and work independently.
  • Fast learner, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
  • Excellent communication skills across internal departments and external partners.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams including Accounting, Finance, LME, WSMD, and Contract desks.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (spoken and written); Mandarin is a strong plus.
  • Able to identify risks and escalate to the appropriate team or manager.
  • Familiarity with contract execution systems, LME hedging, and logistics documentation.
