About the job Accounting Manager
Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing the organizations accounting operations and supervising the accounting team. This role ensures financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and the production of accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a comprehensive and documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

Implement internal controls to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud in accounting transactions.

Supervise the preparation of timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and/or IFRS.

Develop and recommend performance benchmarks to evaluate organizational success.

Prepare the annual budget and financial forecasts; highlight and report significant variances to the Executive Board through monthly reports.

Deliver monthly financial analysis and insights to the Executive Board.

Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Submit quarterly and annual filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Prepare and submit the annual LM-2 report to the Department of Labor.

Oversee biweekly payroll processing for approximately 500 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Manage accurate and timely processing of 401(k) contributions.

Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications & Skills:

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and integrity.

Demonstrated critical thinking skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365. Preferred experience with Sage Intacct.

Skilled in working with complex, formula-based spreadsheets and integrated financial models.

Experience with relational databases, accounting/payroll software, and fixed asset management systems.

Comfortable navigating various software tools and web-based platforms for data access and reporting.
Education & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
-
3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
Prior management experience required (3 direct reports)
Compensation & Benefits:

Starting salary: $123,457, with annual and biannual increases aligned with the salary scale.

Full-time, exempt position (Monday-Friday, 100% onsite).
