We are currently seeking a dedicated Driver Trainer with responsibility for the effective delivery of Induction and refresher training to our community of international and national drivers. The Driver Trainer is responsible for delivering training as per the current training programme, supporting the refreshment of training materials as required, and maintaining a digital, accurate and up-to-date record of all training completed and signed off. The Driver Trainer will also provide support to drivers as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver Induction training to new employee drivers, including paper-based and practical activities
- Support new drivers through their probationary review period
- Deliver mandatory refresher training on an annual basis
- Delivery periodic refresher training to meet identified driver training needs
- Ensure all training is recorded and signed off by attendee and Driver Trainer
- Maintain digital records of all training completed
- Complete weekly and monthly reports to the Driver Training Manager
- Carry out driver assessments to update driver profiles
- Complete role-related administrative duties as required
- Liaise with colleagues in the Driver Training Team to co-ordinate scheduling of training for new and existing drivers in line with operational needs
- Support the drivers in assisting them to meet the various requirements of the organisation
- Attend continuous professional development courses/seminars/networking events as required
- Participate in Driver Training Team and wider team meetings as required.
Skills, experience and competences required
- Must have experience driving a Heavy Goods Vehicle, licence category CE, for a minimum of 2 years within the last 5 years
- Must demonstrate a good level of communication and evidence of previous experience delivering successful training outcomes
- Must be at a competent level of use of technology within a workplace setting
- A training qualification is desirable, but not essential, for the right candidate with experience in a similar role
