Har Aik Global Associates LLP is hiring for a client, a growing UK accountancy practice.

ROLE SUMMARY

We are a growing UK accountancy practice seeking a technically strong and commercially minded Accounts Manager to lead our Pakistan-based accounting operations. The role will manage a team of up to four staff and take ownership of the quality, timeliness and efficiency of bookkeeping, VAT, Making Tax Digital (MTD), statutory accounts and CT600 delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, supervise, coach and develop a team of up to four accounting staff.
  • Plan workloads, allocate jobs, manage capacity and ensure statutory and internal deadlines are met.
  • Oversee and review bookkeeping, VAT returns, MTD submissions, statutory accounts and corporation tax returns (CT600).
  • Ensure work complies with applicable UK accounting standards, IFRS requirements and UK tax legislation.
  • Identify technical issues, errors, risks and missing information early, and drive matters through to resolution.
  • Maintain accurate workflow records and provide clear, timely progress reporting to UK management.
  • Improve working papers, templates, controls, review processes and departmental efficiency.
  • Monitor team quality, productivity, turnaround times and recurring errors, with clear corrective action.
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with UK managers and clients where required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Fully qualified ICAP Chartered Accountant – preferred top 6 accounting firms.
  • Minimum four years' post-qualification experience.
  • Strong practical experience in statutory accounts preparation and review.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK corporation tax, VAT and relevant accounting requirements.
  • Proven experience managing or supervising an accounting team.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong technical review skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Accountable, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of departmental performance.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience within a UK accountancy outsourcing firm.
  • Experience using Xero and UK accounts production or tax software.
  • Experience managing end-to-end bookkeeping, VAT, MTD, accounts and CT600 workflows.
