Responsibilities:
- Cut, shape, and polish diamonds to create finished gemstones.
- Use precision tools and equipment to achieve desired cuts and facets.
- Inspect rough diamonds to determine the best cut to maximize value and minimize waste.
- Follow industry standards and specifications for diamond cutting.
- Maintain detailed records of cutting processes and results.
- Ensure all safety and security protocols are followed during cutting operations.
- Collaborate with gemologists, jewelers, and other team members to meet project requirements and quality standards.
- Previous experience in diamond cutting or a related field is preferred.
- Certification from a recognized gemological institute is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to use precision cutting and polishing tools.
- Knowledge of diamond grading and cutting standards.
- Good eyesight and the ability to focus on detailed work for extended periods.
- High ethical standards and trustworthiness due to the nature of handling valuable items.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Willingness to stay updated on new techniques and industry developments.
- Flexibility to adapt to different cutting projects and requirements.
