Charge Hand, IBA Site Operations
Location: Wellingborough
Salary: £14.98 per hour
Hours: 50 hours per week (Monday to Friday and Saturdays are available on overtime)

Overview:
We are recruiting on behalf of a market-leading business in the Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a reliable and experienced Charge Hand to support site operations at their Wellingborough facility. This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for overseeing production activities and managing a team across two shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day site production activities, ensuring smooth operational delivery.

  • Lead a team of operatives, managing performance, attendance, and shift coordination.

  • Support the Site Manager and Assistant Manager with reporting and operational oversight.

  • Ensure health and safety procedures and environmental compliance are followed at all times.

  • Monitor staffing levels, sick pay, and workforce scheduling.

  • Participate in the operation and monitoring of mineral processing and material movement.

Working Pattern:

  • Monday to Saturday

  • 50 hours per week

  • Day shift with occasional support for back shift (typical shift: 10 am- 8 pm)

Requirements:

  • Previous supervisory or charge hand experience within an industrial, waste, construction, or processing environment.

  • Confident in leading teams and making decisions under pressure.

  • Understanding of health and safety practices in a high-risk environment.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Reliable and committed to maintaining high standards of performance.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the IBA, aggregate, or recycling sectors.

  • Familiarity with site compliance processes and team management reporting.
