Product Development Coordinator , Up to £30,000 + 5% Bonus , Near Wigan
Overview:
Are you passionate about bringing innovative food products to life? We're seeking an energetic and creative Product Development Coordinator to join a thriving and collaborative team in the heart of the confectionery sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience or a degree within food. 

You'll play a key role in developing new products for major UK retailers, working closely with European suppliers and contributing to brand and innovation initiatives. Based at our head office, you'll be encouraged to get involved in all areas of product development and brand storytelling from sample coordination and mock-ups to social content creation.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering up to £30,000 per annum plus a 5% bonus and excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support all aspects of the product development cycle, from concept to customer presentation
  • Generate ideas, create mock-ups and presentations, and request/send samples to customers
  • Manage sample storage and handle customer sample requests for existing products
  • Support brand development projects and wider innovation activities across the team
  • Create and manage content for the company social media (especially LinkedIn and Instagram)
  • Maintain and distribute innovation data via the Innovision Hub
  • Coordinate supplier and customer meetings, including agenda setting, minute taking, and action tracking
  • Present trends, concepts, and submissions to internal teams and external clients
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and clients, both virtually and face-to-face
  • Conduct trend and competitor research using various tools, platforms, and inspiration safaris
Person Specification:
Essential:
  • A genuine interest and experience within food and new product development
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role
  • Confident with social media platforms and content creation (filming included)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Desirable:
  • Degree in Food Development, Food Science, Food Technology, or similar
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging food trend sources

Performance Measures:
  • Social media output and innovation data aligned with the plan
  • Sample processes are managed efficiently and effectively
  • Organised sample/reference storage system maintained
  • Product development tasks completed to agreed timelines and quality standards

You must have the right to work in the UK, have a minimum of 1-2 years working in the food industry, and have a clear passion in line with the industry and role to be considered for the position
