Traffic Light Installer, Romford OTE £40,000 +

This is made up of a £25,500 + London Weighting £5000 base salary and addition of out-of-hours bonus average of 10k per year

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent full-time position to work out of our depot at Romford.

  • Full Training
  • Company Vehicle (Work Use Only)
  • Fuel Card (Work Use Only)
  • Overtime Rate - £ 50 Monday night Thursday night, £80 Friday night - Sunday
  • On-Call Rate - £ 10 per day
  • All hotels / accommodation provided when staying away with a £30 meal allowance.

What will you be doing?

The main purpose of this role is to install, repair, and remove temporary traffic lights on the National Highways around the UK, whilst working to the highest level of Health and Safety standards. The role does require a lot of physical work as well as other activities such as:

  • Lifting ancillary equipment and cables.
  • Installing overhead cabling
  • Picking parts and taking them from a store area to your vehicle.
  • Driving a company van and pickups up to 3.5 Ton in size
  • Moving equipment between sites/depots.
  • Taking part in an on-call rota
  • Completing reports via app-based software on a phone or tablet.
  • Occasionally staying away in hotels to complete work.

Although we are predominantly based out of Romford, there will be a requirement to work in other areas of the country, which may involve overnight stays.

What we are looking for?

The role will require you to be flexible as the service we provide is available to our clients 24hrs/365 days a year. And, as such will involve you working days, nights, and occasional weekends. For this, you will be paid an "On Call" and night-time allowance in addition to your basic salary. To enable you to assess if you could fulfil this role successfully, we have provided a few essential and desirable skills and experiences:

  • The Essentials:
  • Electrical based background
  • A reliable and flexible individual
  • An individual who is willing to work 80% nights and 20% days
  • Willing to work out of hours and be on-call
  • Comfortable at heights
  • Full driving license with a maximum of 3 points

The Desirables:

  • Working in a Highways environment
  • Traffic Signals
  • CSCS card holder
  • IPAF Trained
  • Hold an NPOR competency card
  • Hold Forklift License

Where required, you may be offered to attend an IPAF and NPOR training course to aid you in operating one of our mobile platforms or Telehandlers. The company will provide all required PPE, and equipment training/certification required for you to complete the role.
