As an Telecom Application Development Manager, you will lead a team of developers in designing, implementing, and maintaining software applications to meet the organization's business needs. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring that CRs (Change Requests) and projects are delivered on time and within budget / agreed Man Days.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of developers, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple CRs / development projects simultaneously, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Software Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design software solutions, and develop applications using programming languages and development frameworks.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement best practices for code review, testing, and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of applications.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential for adoption in the organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Budget Management: Manage the application development budget, including estimating project costs, tracking expenses, and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the development team and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in development projects, proactively addressing them to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations of development team members, providing feedback and support for their professional growth and development.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

1. Principles of effective personnel management.

2. Principles of organizational behavior and conflict resolution.

3. Principles of office management, budgeting, administration and supervision.

4. Principles of project estimation and planning.

5. Principles of project management, time management and problem solving.

6. Knowledge of automated software and system management tools.

7. Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.

8. Knowledge of core software applications, including Oracle JDE/Fusion, marketing tools, Microsoft office and application development tools.

9. Knowledge of programming languages, including MS SQL, C#.Net, ASP.Net, MVC, IBM iSeries, DB2, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, and other Web Technologies,

10. Knowledge of database design and file management techniques.

11. Knowledge of network and operating systems including iSeries, Window Server and desktop OS.

12. Knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and standards.

13. Knowledge of SDLC methodologies such as Waterfall, Lean, and Scrum etc.

14. Knowledge of BSS/ESS/OSS telco systems is must.

Position Requirement

Education & Qualification

  • Telco Experience is Must.
  • Manage Services Experience as Vendor is must.
  • DevSecOps Experience is Must.
  • Automation Testing Experience is Must.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in software development, with at least 15 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and development frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, .NET, etc.).
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile or other iterative development methodologies is a plus.
  • Handling day to day configuration and change request management as the Manage Services having Man Days Model.
  • Must have led min 30 member development team.
