As a Remote Spreadsheet Systems Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing advanced spreadsheet systems that support business operations, financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting. You will leverage your expertise in spreadsheet platforms (such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets), scripting (e.g., VBA, Google Apps Script), and data integration to deliver efficient, scalable, and automated tools for internal teams.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented developer who thrives on building smart, user-friendly tools that streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and empower data-driven decision-making in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain advanced spreadsheet systems and templates with built-in logic, formulas, and automation

Use VBA, Google Apps Script, or equivalent to automate spreadsheet tasks and workflows

Connect spreadsheets to external data sources (APIs, databases, cloud tools) for real-time data integration

Create dashboards, charts, and visual reports to communicate insights clearly

Perform troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance to ensure data accuracy and system integrity

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into spreadsheet-based solutions

Document system design, workflows, and instructions for users

Optimize legacy spreadsheets by improving performance, scalability, and usability

Qualifications:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including advanced formulas and pivot tables

Experience with scripting tools (VBA, Google Apps Script)

Understanding of spreadsheet-based data models and version control

Familiarity with connecting spreadsheets to APIs or cloud data sources

Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Excellent communication and documentation abilities

2 years of experience in spreadsheet development, financial modeling, or operations analytics.
