Position:

General Registered Nurse

  • Department: Health Services
  • Reports To: Site Supervisor / Clinical Nurse Lead / Health Director
  • Location: Various FNHA Operational Sites and BC Health Authorities (Across British Columbia)
  • Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time / Casual (Temporary Staffing)

Role Overview:

As a General Registered Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, culturally safe care across a variety of healthcare settings. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, youll support patients through comprehensive assessments, treatment, education, and community health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Nursing Care:

  • Provide direct nursing care aligned with established care plans and standards
  • Perform clinical assessments, emergency care, and medical procedures
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Educate patients and families on treatments, conditions, and post-care plans
  • Support immunization drives and other public health programs

Work Settings:

  • FNHA Facilities: Nursing Stations (Remote Certified Practice preferred), Health Centres (Immunization Competency required), community/satellite clinics
  • BC Health Authorities: Across Interior Health, Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal Health, Vancouver Island Health, Northern Health, and PHSA

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice in BC
  • Certification: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Preferred:

    • Remote Certified Practice designation (Nursing Stations)
    • BCCDC Immunization Competency Course + BC Assessor sign-off (Health Centres)

Experience Requirements:

  • HCO Placements: Minimum 18 months nursing experience
  • FNHA Assignments: Minimum 24 months nursing experience
