Your role:

The Manufacturing Engineer initiates and oversees process technology development activities in the context of New Product Generation as well as product and solution technology roadmap.

New Product Introduction is a business process to develop a new product. Usually, new product development, includes multi-disciplinary approach as part of product industrialization plan and execution. During the product industrialization the manufacturing Engineer is required to develop and ensure the product readiness to production phase.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Ensures adherence to the applicable process for product introductions, qualifications and release
  • Work hand to hand with Product Program manager
  • Responsible for Manufacturing input in PDLM process focusing on Design for Manufacturing
  • Responsible for Manufacturing input in PDLM process focusing on Design for Assembly & Test
  • Responsible for Manufacturing input in PDLM process focusing on Design for Cost
  • Initiates and executes Capex optimization for initial investments
  • Accountable for process and Manufacturing Requirements based on Product Specifications and Test Requirements from R&D
  • Accountable for the process and equipment capability that meets these Requirements
  • Orchestrates design for lean manufacturing with according inputs to PDLM workflows.
  • Responsible for PDLM-driven design changes in factories and at suppliers and their implementation
  • Accountable for Manufacturing BOM and routing Master data until release to shipment and for PDLM ruled changes
  • Accountable for establishing Inspection and Test Criteria for Modules and final assemblies
  • Applies lean manufacturing principles
  • Employs equipment, practices, and procedures which promote a healthy, safe, and secure work environment
  • Executes the processes and standards with embedded quality into the way of working including adherence to compliance with safety, Cost regulatory- and environmental requirements as well as local laws, Heliox General Business principles and other policies

Your tasks:

  • Set a Project plan to accompany Product development plan
  • Set NPI Manufacturing Budget
  • Prepare Make Vs. Buy Discussion
  • Accountable for Work instruction development
  • Accountable for Assembly drawings
  • Perform Design to Cost analysis and recommendation
  • Accountable for Product testing procedure
  • Generate labour hours model, verify and drive Labour hours reduction
  • Review BOM Structure and release along the project
  • Review and approve Production routing
  • Generates and review Equipment required for production: Jigs, Fixture, Testing equipment and procedures
  • Upon Make Vs. Buy design, train the relevant manufacturing party
  • Creating frequent update reports on Products & Processes, by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.

Required qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (manufacturing, mechanical, electrical or electronic) or e.g., Life Science & Technology.

Previous experience as a NPI manufacturing engineer or similar role.

5+ years of working experience as a manufacturing engineer in a high-tech assembly environment.

Competencies:  Analytical, Anticipation, Decisiveness, handling of details, Result orientation, Planning and organizing.

Skills: Dealing with Complexity, communication,  Informing Others, Leadership, Supervision, Problem solving, Working under pressure, relevant technical skills.
Having an overview of the total process as well as a view of the individual parts.

Languages: English, Dutch and any other language is a strong bonus

Knowledge of / experience with:

The practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services

Manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design.

Hardware Specifications, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, and the associated relevant technical skills.

Manufacturing and product standards, like ISO9001, ISO14001 and IP ratings.

The basics in CAD systems. Pro: ability to review simulations for mechanically assembly ease prior to design release.
