We are seeking an experienced and driven Firmware Engineering Manager to lead our R&D firmware team focused on AC and DC Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in embedded systems, power electronics, and EV charging communication protocols, along with exceptional leadership skills to drive innovation, quality, and timely delivery in a fast-paced market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of firmware engineers, providing technical guidance and career development
• Develop and execute firmware development strategies aligned with product roadmaps
• Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables for multiple concurrent projects
• Establish best practices for firmware development, testing, and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and product management
• Drive continuous improvement in development processes and methodologies
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Participate in technical reviews and architecture discussions
• Drive innovation in charging technologies, including support for OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol), ISO 15118, IEC 61851, and other industry standards.
• Oversee compliance and certification processes related to safety (e.g., UL, IEC), grid communication (e.g., OpenADR, IEEE 2030.5), and interoperability.
• Explore and integrate AI-based diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and optimization in EVSE firmware.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years in embedded firmware development; 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and real-time operating systems
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming language
• Experience with firmware debugging tools, techniques, and processes
• Strong understanding of hardware/software interfaces and real-time constraints.
• Excellence in project management and risk mitigation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in relevant field
• Familiarity with CAN, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and other communication protocols.
• Knowledge of security best practices for embedded systems
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Background in product development for regulated industries
• Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience with EVSE protocols: OCPP, ISO 15118, IEC 61851.
