Position Summary

As a Category Buyer at Heliox, you will be responsible for the purchasing and logistical activities. The Category Buyer is the key person to align manufacturing needs with suppliers. The position is located at the North American headquarters in Atlanta, GA will report to the North America Strategic Buyer.

Position Responsibilities

  • Participate in tender processes to build an attractive proposition and take care of all required manufacturing and purchasing activities when the customer places an order.
  • Create and release purchase orders in line with the requirements from sales and follow up with the suppliers, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery.
  • Have regular contact with internal stakeholders (supply chain manager and procurement colleagues) and external stakeholders (suppliers and manufacturing partners).
  • Gather sales forecast for products sold or forecasted for the responsibility area, ensuring the link with the products and the respective Bill of Materials.
  • Manage the MRP for (long lead time) items in the supply chain to enable rapid response, create correct purchase/production orders and on-time flagging of roadblocks to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Suggesting risk orders for long lead time items that show shortages in the MRP analysis.
  • Translating orders into production schedules and production batches, indicating shipment dates to Heliox Project Manager, Manufacturing, etc.
  • Place production orders to manufacturing partners.
  • Plan batch production at the factory, align component arrivals with manufacturing start dates.
  • Follow-up on running production (progress, traceability, quality and OTIF delivery).
  • Validate the PO with the BoM and master data.
  • Organize shipment of raw materials to our manufacturing sites.
  • Improve master data, update BoMs, and ensure accurate system pricing.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience. 
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a Supply Chain function

Key competences:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience reducing cost or improving efficiency in previous jobs
  • Possess experience in a purchasing role
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Fluent in English
