Your role:

As a Category Buyer at Heliox, you will be responsible for the purchasing and logistical activities for the United States. The position is located at the North American headquarters in Atlanta, GA. The Category Buyer is the key person to align manufacturing needs with suppliers. You will strive to innovate the purchasing process and to continuously improve the designated working protocols.

The Category Buyer will report to the North America Supply Chain Manager.

Your responsibilities:

  • Participating in tender processes to build an attractive proposition and taking care of all required manufacturing and purchasing activities when the customer places an order.
  • Creating and releasing purchase orders in line with the requirements from sales and following up with the suppliers, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery.
  • Maintaining regular contact with internal stakeholders (supply chain manager and procurement colleagues) and external stakeholders (suppliers and manufacturing partners).
  • Gathering sales forecast for products sold or forecasted for the responsibility area, ensuring the link with the products and the respective Bill of Materials.
  • Managing the MRP for (long lead time) items in the supply chain to enable rapid response, creating correct purchase/production orders and on-time flagging of roadblocks to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Suggesting risk orders for long lead time items that show shortages in the MRP analysis.
  • Translating orders into production schedules and production batches, indicating shipment dates to Heliox Project Manager, Manufacturing, etc.
  • Placing production orders to manufacturing partners.
  • Planning batch production at the factory, aligning component arrivals with manufacturing start dates.
  • Following-up on running production (progress, traceability, quality and OTIF delivery).
  • Validating the PO with the BoM and master data.
  • Organizing shipment of raw materials to our manufacturing sites.
  • Improving master data, updating BoMs, and ensuring accurate system pricing.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field - or at least 4 years of experience in a Supply Chain function 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience reducing cost or improving efficiency in previous jobs
  • Experience in a purchasing role
  • Knowledge of ERP systems
  • Fluency in English
