Field Service Engineer - FT - travelling 70-80%
Want to work with Heliox, a high energy scale-up in the electrification of public and commercial transport?
Do you have 2 years (jr.) / 5 years (mr.) / 8 years (sr.) of experience with working with medium to high voltages?
Do you understand electrical drawings?
THEN WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU!
Helsinki, Thursday at 15:00: happy faces with the commissioning of the fast charge station (3MW) for 12 electric buses. Satisfied, you pack up your kit and you board a plane home; you just helped another city to get purer air!
During the flight, you watch the video of our 2018 Schiphol project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWqV3iWWhBk
Tomorrow you will work in the surroundings of your home (somewhere in Europe), and the day after that you check into our head office (Best – in the Brainport area and next to Eindhoven). Here, your 1st and 2nd line colleagues call on your expertise for a complex disfunction in the biggest, fully operational fast charging hub of Europe with 43 electric buses (4MW).
After a thorough training on the job, you will be responsible for installation, testing, maintenance and repair of our cutting edge, fast charging solutions for electric buses, trucks and other heavy-duty transport solutions. Heliox is currently the market leader and is always innovating, so you will work with the newest technologies for fast chargers. Our head office is in Best, but you will work in the field out of your home and spend ~75% of your time with our (inter)national customers. Sometimes, you will work outside of Europe, but mostly your service area will be in Europe, with a focus on the Netherlands or Germany or Belgium or Scandinavia. You will check-in into the Best office 2-3 times per month.
You will work closely with our software and hardware engineers and all your colleagues in the office, so you are not on your own in this! Together we make our products and services a success!
- Commissioning (new) products that have been installed by an installation party.
- Programming, doing input/output tests and measurements.
- In the lead of solving 2nd (jr) and/or 3rd-line (mr/sr) malfunctions.
- Investing in our product line through repairs, modifications and maintenance.
- Providing technical training and instructions to clients and operational servicing parties.
- Making test & service reports.
- Developing improvement proposals for our products and service.

Your colleague Christiaan, explains:
“The challenge in this role is in working with high voltages (up to 900V) and output current (up to 1000 Ampère Volt DC). Electric mobility is booming and that is why we are continuously innovating and upgrading our products. Your work is very tangible: our customers are big parties in the bus building industry and in public transport, so you come across your line of work all over the world.”
We offer a challenging and open environment where you can continuously develop yourself. We offer competitive salaries and have an excellent employee benefits program with a profit-sharing scheme, personal bonus (both dependent on your results/impact), pension plan, 31 days holiday, travel allowance and training possibilities. Next to that, we have several allowances for Field Service Engineer with regards to travelling, hotels, emergency service shift, etc.
In our Best based office, we offer you energy with our fresh coffee (ground beans) and a selection of fresh fruit. In your break time, you can play a mini-match of table football, or you can make grilled cheese sandwiches.
