Database Administrator

ROLE PURPOSE

To provide PostgreSQL DBA services in developing the POC for TPC-OHCIS cloud based solution specifically in the area of building multi-tenant PostgreSQL database and implementing data masking.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND ACCOUNTABILITY

• Design, develop and implement PostgreSQL in a multitenant environment. 
• Implement PostgreSQL data masking and access security featureResponsible for the monitoring and uptime of all production databases through the cluster.
• Estimate PostgreSQL database capacities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage.
• Develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need downtime.
• Participate in the creation of development, staging, and production database instances, and the migration from one environment to another.
• Assist developer to perform SQL code review to ensure queries are optimized and tuned to perform efficiently prior to production release.
• Design and implement database backups.
• Put in place maintenance procedure on databases (e.g., Vacuum, Reindexing, Archiving).
• Pro-active remediation of database operational problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Experienced in PostSQL 11+
• Experienced in implementing multi-tenant PostgreSQL
• Experienced data masking for PostgreSQL
• Experienced in PostgreSQL database administration including tuning and backup recovery
• Proficient in writing SQL scripts
• Proficient Unix (Ubuntu/Centos)
