Cloud Architect

JOB DESCRIPTION AND ACCOUNTABILITY

 

Candidate is expected to will lead efforts around cloud design, service implementation, and automating the Banks Cloud infrastructure - all with a focus on security, scalability, and high availability. The Cloud Architect will lead the evolution of the Banks’ layered security architecture, monitoring strategy in the Bank’s Cloud environment. The Cloud Architect will lead and influence the architecture team to increasingly adopt: cloud-native services, application architectures which support security and scalability, and design considerations. The Cloud Architect will deliver the Cloud roadmap, drive the evolution of the architecture, design impactful architectural initiatives in order to support the digital strategy of the Bank.

 

·         Convert the technical and business requirements of a project into the architecture and design that will guide the final product

·         Bridge the gaps between complex business problems and solutions in the cloud

·         Develop a roadmap for the organization's existing and future cloud assets and services.

·         Work with developers and cloud engineers to ensure the right technology is used for a given solution

·         Provide advice to cloud engineers with regards to cloud platform setup and configuration i.e. setup instances, clusters, network ports

·         Assist in troubleshooting issues that may occur in cloud-based systems

·         Apply industry best practices and standard operation procedures when designing and implementing cloud-based solutions

·         Enforce sound architectural procedures and methods to cloud computing designs

 

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:

·         Minimum 8 years working experience in technology field, with at least 4 years on cloud platforms and infrastructure

·         Must have experience in public cloud offering on at least 2 of the well-known cloud service providers i.e. AWS, GCP, Azure or Alibaba

·         Good knowledge of server-side programming languages i.e. Java, Python, PHP, Go, Node.js, Ruby  

·         Good knowledge of server operating systems i.e. Linux and Windows, and container technologies i.e. Docker, Kubernetes

·         Good understanding of networking i.e. TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, firewalls, etc.

·         Sound understanding of IT security and cloud security

·         Should have at least Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering or another related field

·         Cloud Architect certification in either AWS, Azure or GCP will be an advantage
