Role Overview
Are you passionate about power systems automation and the engineering behind mission-critical electrical infrastructure?
We are looking for an experienced SCADA & Automation Engineer to contribute to the design, configuration and integration of Substation Automation Systems (SAS) for medium- and high-voltage substations supporting data centre and industrial projects across Scandinavia.
You will work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop reliable, secure and standards-compliant automation solutions, with particular emphasis on IEC 61850, GOOSE messaging, IED integration and SCADA communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Design robust and reliable SAS architectures, including communication networks and system topology for HV/MV substations.
- Engineer and configure IEC 61850 communication systems, SCL files, GOOSE messaging and IED interfaces.
- Integrate protection and control devices with SCADA platforms, RTUs and communication gateways.
- Support OT cybersecurity requirements and ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards.
- Contribute to FAT/SAT activities, commissioning, technical documentation and multidisciplinary engineering reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively in international engineering environments.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in substation automation, SCADA or protection and control engineering for HV/MV substations.
- Hands-on experience with IEC 61850, GOOSE messaging, SCL configuration, IED integration and SCADA communication protocols.
- Experience with relevant engineering tools such as PCM600, DIGSI 5, IET600 or equivalent, combined with strong technical problem-solving and teamwork skills.
