P2P Senior Accountant (German Speaker)

Role Overview

This role is a key appointment within a newly established Finance & IT Center of Expertise (CoE) for a premier global organization. As a Senior Accountant, you will lead the transition and execution of Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement for international business operations.

• Process & Knowledge Transfer: You will lead the initial project phase by collaborating with onshore teams to document and transfer complex P2P processes into the new CoE, creating operational procedures from the ground up.
• Process Ownership: You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of P2P activities for assigned regions, ensuring strict compliance with established global standards and local regulations.
• Operational Excellence: You will identify process bottlenecks and implement strategic improvements and controls during and after the transition "Go Live" phase.
• Stakeholder Management: You will work directly with Project Managers, Department Leads, and the Center Head to ensure project timelines and operational deadlines are consistently met.
• Strategic Reporting: This position reports directly to the Head of Purchase-to-Pay and plays a vital role in the centers long-term growth and sustainability.

Key Requirements

• Professional Expertise: Proven experience in Senior Accounting roles with a deep focus on Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) cycles.
• Language Skills: Fluency in German (written and spoken) is mandatory to support specific regional operations.
• Project Experience: Experience in process migration, knowledge transfer, or setting up Shared Service Center (SSC) operations is highly valued.
• Operational Rigor: A strong commitment to sustainability, exceptional quality, and the ability to work within a high-standard "bean-to-bar" value chain mindset.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the CoE across different nationalities and business units.
• Location: This role is based in Porto within a multi-national environment representing over 80 nationalities.
