Our client is seeking a highly skilled professional to join their Interior Studio Engineering team.
This team plays a crucial role in advancing the design excellence of their brand. The client is dedicated to delivering top-quality products and continually striving for perfection. The main responsibilities for this role include ensuring that the Interior Digital Surface Models from the Design team are delivered in line with the agreed quality standards. This involves securing that all technical solutions analyzed in Catia V5 are optimized to meet the intended design objectives and delivering precise geometrical CAD data for all physical design models. The role requires close collaboration with Product Designers, Digital Surface Modelers, Design Program Managers, Model Project Leaders, as well as Product and Quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide studio engineering support from initial concept design through manufacturing feasibility, prototype development, volume production, and vehicle launch
- Ensure Technical Input is secure and that Final Technical Input is complete within the program
- Prepare technical proposals, vehicle overlays, comparison sections, data sheets, screenshots, and presentations for design reviews
- Implement best practices in current and future programs
- Analyze daily package and feasibility issues with design, clay/digital modeling, and engineering teams, proposing world-class solutions
- Check incoming data for feasibility and compatibility with design intent
- Maintain up-to-date competence, including benchmarking against competitors
- Provide the organization with facts, technical information, and insights from previous projects
- Produce CAD designs to support the development of new vehicles
- Stay informed on existing manufacturing methods and technologies
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in an automotive studio
- BSc, or equivalent based on work experience
- Proficiency in Catia V5 and TeamCenter with well-documented experience
- Understanding of key priorities in various program phases
- Expert knowledge in studio engineering and design support, including Class A surfacing, BIW, and trim (interior and exterior) design and development
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to support Design in the most efficient manner
- Experience in the issue management process and design feasibility checks
- Strong ability to understand and communicate Design objectives
- Extensive program engineering/management experience in automotive projects
- Comprehensive knowledge of styling and engineering design techniques, processes, and manufacturing technologies
- A foundational understanding of automotive component packaging and engineering fundamentals
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
