Learning and Development Instructional Designer

Job Functions:
Develops and designs courses and curriculum.
Edits and develops online learning materials.
Creates learning experiences and environments.

Designs learning activities, assignments, and assessments.
Creates computer-based training (CBT) modules and storyboards.
Develops instructors manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools.
Collaborates with subject experts to develop course content.
Manages online learning communities.
Analyzes, updates, and refines existing online content.
Keeps current on best practices in instructional design.
Writes scripts for video and audio content.
Works with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users.
Skills:
At least two years of experience in instructional design, educational technology, distance
learning, or directly related field
At least two years of experience in teaching online, blended, or in-person courses
Solid understanding of pedagogy, and trends in online and blended teaching and
instructional design
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication
Experience with web-authoring tools and multimedia (basic HTML coding skills, UI/UX,
Articulate/Rise 360, XML, Javascript & CSS)
Familiarity with accessibility requirements for the presentation of online materials,
including those described in the Americans with Disabilities Act
Education and Experience Requirements:
Master's degree in educational technology or related field, preferred
3+ years of experience using course authoring tools
Proficiency with UKG Ready Learning, Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate, Moodle or
proprietary LMS
Familiar with website design, video technology and editing
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Understanding of varied learning styles
Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods
