About the job BSS Product Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BSS (Business Support System) Software Product Manager to lead the development and management of our telecommunications company's BSS software suite, to be based in Senegal. The BSS Software Product Manager will be responsible for overseeing the product lifecycle, including requirements gathering, roadmap development, and ensuring successful product delivery. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of telco BSS processes, excellent technical knowledge, and strong leadership abilities to drive the success of our BSS software products.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle management of our telco BSS software suite, including online charging systems (OCS), mobile money, mobile value-added services (MVAS), and other related products.
- Conduct market research and gather customer requirements to define product features, functionalities, and roadmap.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to develop and execute product strategies and go-to-market plans.
- Define and prioritize product backlog items based on market demands, customer needs, and business goals.
- Work closely with the Engineering team to ensure timely and successful product development, testing, and release.
- Conduct regular market analysis to identify competitive landscape, industry trends, and emerging technologies, and leverage this knowledge to drive product innovation and differentiation.
- Drive the product presales process by providing technical expertise, conducting product demonstrations, and addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborate with Sales teams during the sales process to develop compelling value propositions and assist in closing deals.
- Define and implement product pricing strategies, in coordination with Finance and Sales teams, to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, user feedback, and market dynamics to identify areas for improvement and drive product enhancements.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including product requirements, user guides, and technical specifications.
- Champion process improvements and best practices to ensure efficient product development and delivery.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and customer needs to ensure compliance and alignment of product offerings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in product management within the telecommunications industry, with a focus on BSS software products such as OCS, mobile money, and MVAS.
- Deep understanding of telco BSS processes and industry best practices.
- Strong technical background with knowledge of software development processes and technologies.
- Experience in product presales, including conducting demonstrations and addressing customer inquiries.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities, with a track record of successfully delivering software products.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong customer focus and ability to understand customer needs and translate them into product requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in defining product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies.
- Knowledge of mobile telecommunications standards and regulations.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align product strategies with company objectives.
- Experience in process improvement and ability to identify and implement operational efficiencies.
