Company Background
Our client is an established steel manufacturer specializing in the production of billets and steel bars for the construction industry. Strategically located in Pasir Gudang, Johor, the company is recognized as one of the prominent steel manufacturing players in the state.
Through strategic investments and acquisitions, our client is building an integrated steel value chain across Southeast Asia while strengthening its presence in Malaysia's steel industry. Its key subsidiaries include prefabricated steel reinforcement products, rebar trading, and the manufacturing and sale of wire mesh fencing products, as well as the fabrication of reinforcement steel products for the construction and building industry.
Purpose
Responsible for the financial, management accounting and tax functions of the Company
Responsibility
- Handle daily accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, voucher verification, and ledger entries.
- Assist in preparing and submitting financial statements, management reports, and other financial reports.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable, tracking customer payments and supplier payments.
- Assist in cost accounting, expense reimbursement verification, and financial analysis.
- Maintain and update the financial system, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with tax filing, payment, and audit tasks.
- Assist in bank reconciliation, cash management, and fund allocation.
- File and manage financial documents, ensuring the completeness and confidentiality of financial information.
- Assist the finance manager in preparing the annual budget and financial planning.
- Cooperate with internal and external audits, providing necessary financial data and information.
- Complete other finance-related tasks assigned by superiors.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with ACCA / CIMA / CA / CPA / MIA qualification.
- At least 5 – 7 years relevant working experience is required; experience in manufacturing or steel mill industry would be an added advantage.
- Familiar with accounting principles and tax laws, understanding basic financial operational processes.
- Proficient in using financial software and office software such as Excel, Word, etc.
- Strong data analysis skills and meticulous work attitude.
- Strong learning ability and adaptability, capable of completing tasks under guidance.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented spirit.
- Strong sense of responsibility and professional ethics, maintaining confidentiality in financial matters.
- Good in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia in verbal, reading and writing, in order to effectively communicate with our diverse client base, leaders and stakeholders.
