Job Overview
As part of the company's development strategy, the Sourcing Engineer is responsible for supporting factory construction and material sourcing initiatives, with a strong focus on cost efficiency, supplier quality, and risk management. This role involves active coordination with internal departments and external suppliers to optimize sourcing strategies, improve production efficiency, and ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Reduction

Conduct cost breakdown and market trend analysis.

Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternative materials, supplier process studies, and negotiations.

Prepare monthly cost reduction reports.
2. Parts Approval
-
Coordinate sample submissions and approvals (ORT, artwork, golden samples).

Liaise with R&D, QA, and customers for buy-offs and trial runs.

Ensure timely approval before mass production or ECN implementation.
3. Work Efficiency

Complete new project RFQs and price updates within set timelines.

Ensure no delays in PP/MPQ/MP activities.

Continuously improve personal performance and team coordination.
4. Supplier Quality

Review supplier performance quarterly.

Participate in quality issue meetings and monthly supplier visits.

Ensure only reliable and high-performing vendors are selected.
5. Risk Prevention

Propose use of local or common raw materials to mitigate supply risk.

Monitor market trends and assess material lead times and risk buys.
6. New Supplier Development

Identify new vendor opportunities and participate in audits and onboarding.

Standardize new vendor development processes and review progress monthly.

Collaborate with SQE, R&D, and SCM for alignment.
Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in plastics, metal, or electrical components sourcing.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Willing to travel and work extended hours when required.

Fluent in English (verbal & written).

Able to interpret BOMs and technical drawings.

A team player with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
Salary Range: RM4000 - RM8000
