Job Description:
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Automation Equipment Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations for high-precision automation equipment within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, equipment calibration and qualification, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high equipment reliability and production efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Strategy & Optimization

    • Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

    • Monitor KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, and MTTR to drive performance improvements.

    • Manage spare parts inventory and cost-effective maintenance planning.

  • Equipment Installation & Calibration

    • Oversee IQ, OQ, PQ for new automation equipment.

    • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IPC, ESD, and related standards.

    • Maintain regular calibration and validation of automated systems.

  • Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement

    • Lead diagnostics and resolution for equipment issues across SMT, ICT, FCT, AOI, robotics, and conveyors.

    • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize equipment performance.

    • Conduct FMEA and implement AI-based predictive maintenance systems.

  • Team Management & Training

    • Supervise and develop a team of engineers and technicians.

    • Conduct training on maintenance best practices and safety standards.

    • Foster a culture of ownership, efficiency, and continuous learning.

  • Compliance & Documentation

    • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety and regulatory requirements.

    • Maintain logs, SOPs, and reports for audits and operational transparency.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

  • 8+ years in automation equipment maintenance, preferably in EMS or high-volume electronics manufacturing.

  • Proficient in PLC (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron), robotics (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA), and motion control systems.

  • Hands-on experience with SMT, reflow, AOI, SPI, and wave soldering equipment.

  • Familiar with CMMS, MES, SCADA, and lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma, TPM).

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Able to work independently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AI-driven predictive maintenance, digital twins, and IoT-based monitoring.

  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, TPM, or Industrial Robotics.

  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing technologies.


Salary Range: RM8000 - RM15000
