The company is located in Johor Bahru, and the actual working location is subject to the project.

Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant is responsible to manage and evaluate cost-related financial data, supporting strategic pricing, budgeting, and overall financial decision-making. This role is critical in preparing cost reports, monitoring business expenses, ensuring cost efficiency, and contributing to the organization's financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management & Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze cost reports, including variance analyses and cost control strategies.
  • Track and monitor production costs, raw material usage, labor expenses, and overhead allocations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining cost standards for products and services to support competitive pricing.
  • Periodically review and update standard costs based on market trends, operational shifts, and business requirements.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with procurement, operations, sales, and other departments to promote cost efficiency across the organization.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis on new projects, pricing strategies, and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and relevant accounting principles.
  • Support month-end closing processes, including cost reconciliation and financial reporting.
  • Prepare comprehensive costing reports and offer actionable insights to support management decisions and audit readiness.

Cost Optimization & Strategic Recommendations

  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of financial models to optimize operations and resource allocation.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cost accounting, finance, or related rolesexperience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of cost accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Macros, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and able to meet strict deadlines.
